About the project
Private, practical voice-pitch exploration
Voice Gender Analyzer is a free browser-based tool for exploring speaking pitch. It measures a short voice sample locally on your device and presents a median pitch, an 80% pitch range, and a plain-language range label. It is built for people who want a simple, private reference point while practising their voice or learning more about pitch.
The tool intentionally describes acoustic pitch rather than assigning a gender or identity. A voice is shaped by many factors, including resonance, timbre, intonation, speech rate, language, and context. Pitch is useful to measure, but it is not a complete description of a person or their voice.
How it works
When you start a test, your browser records a brief sample through the microphone permission you grant. A small YIN pitch-detection implementation evaluates voiced frames in the browser, filters unstable readings, and produces the summary shown on screen. The recording is not uploaded to our servers.
